China’s media watchdog is considering providing a rating system for television series, which would see certain shows aired on designated channels and at later times. The move could potentially help the US and other overseas companies overcome censorship hurdles as they’re trying to get their shows into the mainland market, as it would provide a clear guide as to what’s allowed on air and what’s off-limits.
