Chictopia marries high fashion, high art and whimsy  Started by the Central St. Martins-educated Christine Lau in 2009, Chictopia first hit the fashion radar when actress Fan Bingbing was photographed wearing her designs.

Lau’s scope of vision is breathtaking; every collection since the brand’s inception has had a fully realized theme and concept that the clothing executes to the razor’s edge between wearability and absurdity.

In the current collection, inspired by the “avant-garde,” Lau employs a recurring motif of the asymmetrical face, which is found everywhere from an adorable crop top and high waisted shorts set (RMB1,680 each) to being the structural foundation of an exquisitely tailored trompe l’oeil sheath dress (RMB3,480).

In addition to the flagship store, recently relocated from Nanluoguxiang to Gulou Dong Dajie, Chictopia designs can also be found at Galeries Lafayette and Lane Crawford department stores.
