Following reports about scores of activists being detained in China for showing support for the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, BBC’s Martin Patience attempted to contact prominent dissident Hu Jia at his home in Beijing, but was unsurprisingly denied access by security. That didn’t stop Hu from making an appearance in the background, waving around a yellow umbrella in a show of solidarity for the so-called Umbrella Revolution.
