Pizza Saporita, previously Pizza+, has now officially completed its rebranding, opening their Chaoyang Park store, adding more seating to both the inside and outside areas, and of course continuing to serve the great square pizza we’ve grown to expect from them.

Just as before, the menu offers pizza by the slice (as pictured above, RMB 13-22), by the (round) pizza, and also features salads, sides, and a number of other dishes.

Head in at lunch 11am-2pm, Monday through Friday, to get a set meal at either RMB 39 or RMB 49, depending on your choice of pizza. The set includes two slices of pizza, a veggie salad, and a soft drink.

Later this week, on Friday June 23, head over to the relatively new Home Grounds for the next session of Dining Out for the LGBT Center between 6pm and 9pm. We were big fans of Home Grounds when we first went to check it out, thanks to its health-oriented options such as salads and grains, smoothies, and juices.

Proceeds from the night will go towards the LGBT Center so that they can continue to provide worthwhile and needed mental health programs for Beijing’s LGBT Community, as well as their other advocacy and outreach programs.

Finally, if you’re looking for an excuse to enjoy a classy mid-week adventure to Wangfujing, the Waldorf Astoria has just begun their ongoing Aperitovo deal. Running Tuesdays and Wednesdays, RMB 168 gets you all you can drink between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Negroni, Aperol Spritz, prosecco, and red and white wine (mix and match as you please). Depending on which day you go, there’s also an unlimited buffet pairing of Italian (Tuesday) or Spanish (Wednesday) tapas-style finger food.

Despite the food taking on more of a pre-dinner snacks vibe, you’ll find that the options are varied and bulky enough that before you know it you’ve made it to 9.30pm quite happily (the generous pours will certainly help). The buffet is also refreshed throughout the evening, ensuring that even if you turn up late you won’t be stuck with the leftovers. Additionally, the upscale decor and change of pace make it certainly worth a night away from usual Gulou/Sanlitun haunts.
