This past Saturday was the second day of the second month in the Chinese lunar calendar, marking the Longtaitou Festival (龙抬头), a day in which the mystical dragon finally raises its head and brings rain for the coming planting season. It’s also an occasion in which protesting children get a snazzy buzz-cut, much to their parents’ amusement.
