Funky has finally finished refurbishment and is excited to welcome everyone back to party.

The new interior is looking swanky – the stage is smaller but there is more seating than before. There are also more shiny mirrors, mildly reflective floors, and invisible steps up to the bar and the toilets, because it wouldn’t be fun getting drunk in a club without a high chance of falling over! There is also a quieter lounge area, if you’d rather not rave on the dancefloor.

The Funky crew start off the year of the sheep/goat/ram with two ‘I’m Back’ parties this weekend, on March 6 and March 7. Both parties will start at 8pm, go on til late, and feature DJs Javy, F Daniel, Stephen Hu, and Ocean. Tickets cost RMB 80 and can be bought at the door.

If you can’t make it this time, do keep an eye on the venue and its events. Funky is an integral part of the Beijing LGBT community, and has different events on on a weekly basis, ranging from themed parties to film screenings.
