The fireworks in Houhai have subsided (even if just a little), so…now what? Don’t fret – each day of the CNY holiday sees at least one dance floor shaking or draft beer flowing. Here’s a day-by-day guide:
Jan 31:
Modernista stands out from the herd by throwing their stallion-themed Chinese New Year Camelot Horse Party on the day after CNY eve. Expect a mix of alternative and fusion rock and RMB 10 shots.
Feb 1:
At Slow Boat Brewery Taproom, get a pitcher of beer free with a burger for RMB 70 from 2-7pm, and all day they’re offering one beer for RMB 25.
Feb 2
Count down to the year of the Horse at Dada’s RetroDance Chinese New Year with Tangsuan Radio’s RetroDance team DJs Demone and Brass Funky Joker.
Feb 3:
Start partying as early as 6.30am at any one of the venues around Beijing who are hosting a live viewing of Super Bowl XVIII. Check here for listings.
At night, Dada lights up with DJs Donald Summer and Pei and their Computer Love CNY Special Event.
Feb 4:
Say goodbye to your holiday with a Powu party at Lantern.
Feb 5:
Cicada Ultralounge hosts their first “I’m in Style!” Wednesday, so drop by if you’re in the creative industry.
Head over to 4corners if you’re down with karaoke – it’s ladies night, so look forward to drink deals for females.
Feb 6:
If you’ve spent all your cash by now, you’re in luck: Plan B is giving out bottles of a mystery premium lager beer for RMB 10 from 5-8pm.
