Learning Chinese seems so difficult, especially to native English speakers. In reality, it’s not as bad as you think. At Next Step China, one of our goals is to help our students become proficient or fluent in Chinese, depending upon their unique goals.

You might be able to learn Chinese through an online program or by taking local language classes, but there’s nothing quite like an immersion experience in China. By choosing a study abroad program at a prominent Chinese university, you will accelerate the rate at which you will become proficient in both speaking and writing Chinese. You can receive six to fifteen college credits to transfer to your own university, or you can use them towards a degree in China!   Here’s what you can expect when you decide to study Chinese via University Programs.

  • Duration: You can choose any timeframe between two weeks to three years. Within two weeks, you should be able to learn about 240 Chinese words. Of course, the longer you study, the more words you will learn.

  • Semesters. Plan your stay around semesters. You can choose a Spring, Fall or Summer semester to begin your program.
  • Teachers. Each professor has an advanced degree in teaching Chinese as a second language. They also have years of experience teaching Chinese to University students. Most of all, the teachers are excited about working with students from overseas.

The University Program is perfect for anyone who wants to learn Chinese in a class setting. Every lesson can be put into “real life practice” on the streets of China after classes.
