Tonight
Beijing’s original white collar boxing event, Brawl on the Wall, returns, featuring some of Beijing’s bravest and brightest unleashing their rage on each other in charitable combat. Sit ringside as these model citizens pummel each other for charity.
Up-and-coming Montreal based duo, Blue Hawaii (above), plays live trip-hop at Dada. Check out their recent Boiler Room set to get a better idea of what this dynamic electronic act is all about.
The two-week long Beijing Sonic Music Festival kicks off with live music and DJ performances, featuring We Are Not Invited, Mickey Zhang, and Yang Bing. A one day ticket door ticket is RMB 150. Read more about the entire festival here.
Lantern celebrates half a decade with some of the regulars: Huang WeiWei, X.L.F., Elvis.T, Ouyang, Kristian Zinnack, and Weng Weng. Free entrance before midnight.
Tim’s Texas Bar-B-Q has been operating without power for a few weeks now, but that hasn’t stopped them from offering up some outrageous drink deals. Grab as many cocktails as you can from 6-10pm tonight for RMB 98.
Tomorrow Night
Hotpot is celebrating five years (already?) of DJing some of the danciest bass, hip-hop, trap and funk in Beijing. DJ Wordy (3x DMC Champion), Soulspeak (L.A.), and DJ Wes (The Park) kick things off at 10pm.
In yet another anniversary party, Plan B is celebrating two years with a lucky draw and all the burgers you can eat and all the beer, sangria and vodka lime soda you can drink for three hours for RMB 100.
For just RMB 250, you can camp and BYOB on the Tianjin section of the Great Wall for a three-day music festival with a whopping line up of 37 DJs. This is a deal you won’t want to miss while the weather is still warm. More info here.
Más is whipping up ’80s inspired craft cocktails, video projections, electronic new wave & vaporwave. Think Boy George remixes, slowed down Sade, silver sequins and creative drinks, all starting at 9pm.
Pacha (you know, that club in Ibiza) is coming to Beijing via the new Gongti club, Circle, with a white-themed party featuring Glowinthedark from out of town and local favorite Bite-Size Buddha. More info here.
Sunday Night
Don’t forget that Monday is a holiday, so you don’t have to feel guilty about celebrating Syndicate’s 10th anniversary a little early with their warm-up party at Dada featuring DJs Blackie, Clir, Donkey Tonk, Chole, and Kay C. First 50 people through the door will receive a commemorative Syndicate poster. Fun starts at 10pm, door ticket is RMB 30.
