Twenty years ago urban streets were jammed not with cars but bicycles. Bike jams were a common site. Pedestrians and cycles often became embroiled in a tangles of wheels, clothes and other paraphernalia. The difference now that cars have largely replaced bikes is that it’s rather easier to kill someone.
