If you’re anything like us, the sweltering weather will have stripped your appetite back to the bare minimum of frosty drinks and slices of watermelon. For those made of sterner stuff, there are still plenty of foodie goings on this week.
First off, the annual Beijinger Burger Cup is back! We’re warming up to the big launch event on August 23 with Burger Wars, where some of Beijing’s most popular patties go head-to-head. Catch Burger Wars on the blog on Monday and Thursday.

The sixth edition of Restaurant Week is coming your way in September 4-14. We had the chance to try out the dinner menu at Matta, one of the new restaurants joining the roster this year. Their delicious wagyu beef tagliata is pictured above.
Purveyors of fabulous homemade gelato Vivi Dolce have opened their first store in Central Park. Stop by and try one of their innovative flavor combinations.
