Summertime is the best season for lychees, and the first weeks of warm weather bring crowds of people to Shenzhen’s Lychee Park to pick from the many trees bearing ripe fruit. Residents and visitors spotted at the park on Tuesday afternoon, however, were described as gathering lychees from the trees in a less-than-wholesome manner. In fact, a post on Weibo reported it as downright “violent”.
