Residents of Shenyang, Liaoning province (probably) don’t expect to see an octopus flying above their heads on any given day, but that’s what happened yesterday in the Shenyang Kite Competition when this this majestic, 100-meter-long octopus-thing got itself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for sheer size. Take THAT Guangdong, and your measly 97-meter-long Chinese knot kite (which set the record earlier this month).
