After three years of rotating COVID breakouts, quarantines and lockdowns around the world, peaking in China with a long zero-COVID era that only ended in December, this is the first year since 2019 when we can breathe a bit easier.

Things are starting to come together for the 9th annual World Baijiu Day, with confirmed partners in cities as distant at Christchurch, Boston, Stockholm, Shenzhen, Melbourne, Toronto, Hamburg and Guangzhou — I will have a working list of WBD venues up for the three-week countdown.

August 9 falls on a Wednesday this year, so some partners might decide to celebrate that day, either the weekend before of after, or even the whole week. Again, I’ll have more details in the next few days!
