Yesterday, CCP mouthpiece Xinhua news posted a list of 120 tunes said to contain pornography, violence, or contents that ‘harm public morality’ by abetting crime. Chinese internet sites were ordered to remove the music, which are in violation of the “Provisional Regulations on Administration of Internet Culture”. Deputy Director of the Ministry of Culture Market Department, Liu Qiang, said “to regulate online media markets – measures such as the ‘blacklist’ system will become the norm.”
