Psychedelic warrior and professional lip locker, Ricky Maymi, will be holding down the fort for a couple hours at Soi Baochao (F.K.A. Cangku) tomorrow (Apr 24) for their weekly Make Out Club party. He will be spinning, sliding, or most likely pressing play on some quality deep cuts from a variety of underground genres. Make sure to attend with an open mind, but maybe some closed toe shoes because who want to lose a toenail on a Friday night.

He’s known as the guitarist for The Brian Jonestown Massacre (check out a 2001 jam above), America's psych rock / shoegaze troupe that helped the 90s become a little more far-out and groovy, in a time when grunge and slacker culture lackadaisically reigned. Currently, Ricky is also a big proponent of Chinese underground music, through his work distributing records and organizing tours for local acts like Birdstriking and Chui Wan.

This evening will not only be a great opportunity for you to get better acquainted with this psych rock prophet, but you can also enjoy some other worldly music selections from Charm, Compact Dicks, and Cousin Kippy (me).
