St. Paddy's Day ranks somewhere in between New Year's Eve and Halloween in our personal list of Days of Prescribed Fun That We Dislike. But if you insist on drinking dyed green alcohol and chugging car bombs before they curdle (ew!), here are the places to do in Beijing starting from this weekend (St. Patrick's Day is on a Monday this year).
Paddy O'Shea's celebrations last all weekend, and expect a rowdy, multi-cultural crowd to be slamming Guinness, shooting Jameson and loudly asking about the basic rules of rugby.
Great Leap (both locations) and Slow Boat will have their seasonal stouts on tap, with a RMB150 deal for four stouts at Great Leap and promises of classy, hutong-microbrewed car bombs going down on Batiao.
We don't exactly understand how cornhole is Irish but celebrations at The Brick in Shuangjing start Sunday and go on through Monday, including all-day cornhole on Sunday and many all-you-can-drink deals both days.
Last but certainly not least, we're positive that there will be green Martinis during the City Weekend-sponsored Lush Rush Martini Night Monday night, where you can sip on RMB15 cocktails, shoot the breeze and maybe even play a little rum dice with your favorite City Weekend editors.
