A woman in Chengdu, Sichuan province who’d forked out 400,000 yuan for what she believed was 1.6 million yuan in high-quality counterfeit bills had no choice but to turn herself in to authorities after discovering that she’d actually been given stacks upon stacks of “ghost money”. The three swindlers who scammed the woman were detained by police on March 10.
