Somehow this lovely handbag shop has slipped under our radar since its opening in September, but regardless, it comes as no surprise considering how fast Wudaoying Hutong is sprouting new boutiques. When I was inside for only a short time, more than one person oo’d and ah’d from outside the window, affirming my need to share this with the masses today.
Hand-stitched leather bags, vintage totes, jewelry by Brooklyn-based brand K/LLER, wallets, and shoes fill Zi Wu, an endeavor by two creative friends with a good taste for presentation.
Prices hover between RMB 100 and 1,500 depending on the size and condition of the item. Most of the handmade leather totes are on offer for about RMB 950, which is not a bad price for a local, well-made bag.
Look out for more on them in upcoming issues of the Beijinger.
