A man in Guangzhou was recently detained by police for using a fake identity card to open a bank account. The suspect surnamed Pan confessed that he had spent 50 yuan to get the fake identity card made because he was afraid that his girlfriend’s father would disapprove of their marriage if he found out that he was nine years older than her, Guangzhou Daily reports.
