A family living in the Shunyi district outside of Beijing converted six containers into a 150-square-meter home for around 48,000 USD. The one-story building, made up of six rooms, a rooftop garden and a courtyard, took only two months to construct and is about as green as it gets in Beijing. It can be used to recycle materials, generate electricity and turn waste into fuel for cooking.
