Locals are getting excited about the city’s first Monet exhibit, according to Shanghai Daily, which this morning reported that 60,000 people have already their reserved tickets for the “Master of Impression – Claude Monet” exhibit starting this Saturday at K11. At least 7,000 people are expected to show up on opening weekend, which has left organizers surprised / slightly concerned by the level of interest.

“The exhibition is on for several months, so we’re just hoping that not everyone comes at once,” the paper quoted one organizer as saying. Regardless, this is a huge boon for Shanghai’s budding art scene, which will be able to enjoy 40 original Monet pieces–including Water Lilies-along with original works by Renoir and other French Impressionist masters until June 15. RMB100.
