Finding New Sustainability in Supply Chains
2:00 – 7:00 PM,
Monday, February 02, 2015
– AmCham China Conference Center
Of all the environmental impact created by the retail sector, 97 percent comes from products themselves — from raw materials, transportation and product manufacturing. In response to this, retailers are partnering with suppliers to find creative new solutions. The key to success lies in selecting the appropriate supplier engagement method and then using that approach for deeper collaboration. China, as the largest emerging market, faces immense sustainability challenges. Improving the sustainability of the supply chain will not only improve production efficiency and reduce energy consumption, but also promote economic development.
AmCham China will co-host with The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) a panel of speakers from TSC, AmCham China, the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, Wal-Mart and the Environmental Defense Fund, to discuss sustainability solutions and businesses’ roles.
The discussion will touch on:
– Trends of environmental information transparency in China
– Product sustainability toolkits
– Supply chain sustainability
– Green supply chain
