It’s NFL Wild Card Weekend, the beginning of American football playoffs that will last for the next few weekends, culminating with the Super Bowl on February 2 (Beijing time).
Live NFL broadcasts always mean either late night or early morning watching here in Beijing, but this weekend, with the working Sunday on January 4, the schedule has worked against us. Instead of having Sunday to watch a couple of the games, the work day means most football fans will be heading to the office. Fear not: here are a number of options for those with and without flexible schedules.
Paddy O’Shea’s: Paddy’s will be showing the Sunday, January 4 game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a 9:15am kickoff.
Home Plate Bar-B-Que: Home Plate will show all of this weekend’s games live. The Arizona Cardinals play the Carolina Panthers at 5:35am January 4, with the the Baltimore Ravens versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a 9:15am start. On January 5, it’s the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Indianapolis Colts at 2:05am, and the Detroit Lions versus the Dallas Cowboys at 5:40am.
If you’d prefer to watch the games in the comfort of your own home, they will all be streamed live from various local internet sites. PPTV, LeTV, and Guangdong TV will all carry the games, and NFL China will have gamecasts for live text updates.
