Today the Shanghai Daily broke the news that use of popular taxi mobile apps such as Kuaidi Dache (Dache = Taxi) and Didi Dache is now illegal during rush hour (7:30AM to 9:30AM and 4:30PM to 6:30PM). Any cab driver with an “available” light showing that refuses to stop for a passenger at a legitimate hailing spot during the rush hour will be liable to fines of RMB200, a 15 day suspension, or even revocation of their license.

What do you think of the new policy? Have you ever been unable to get a taxi, watching green light cab after green light cab drive right on by? Or are you a Kuaidi and Didi Dache user?
