If you are living in a westernized country, you may be hesitant about leaving the comforts of home to go to China to improve your Chinese. It’s a big step to leave your native country for a period. But, if you are serious about improving your Chinese language skills, China is where you need to be. These two University students share their experience about improving their Chinese significantly as a result of going to China.

Here are some of the takeaways from the video.

• Tutoring is a great option if you want one-on-one attention.
• If you struggle with your tones, you will be able to practice them better in China because you will be immersed in the Chinese culture.
• People will be speaking Chinese all around you, which makes it an ideal learning environment.
• BCLU is not the best option if you need to improve your speaking skills. It is a great option if need to hone your writing and reading skills.
• One of the best parts about going to China is the travel and living abroad experience.
• If you get the opportunity to go to China, take it!
