In the first episode of the new VICE News series Talking Heads, Orville Schell, the Arthur Ross Director of the Center on U.S.-China Relations at Asia Society, and publisher of ChinaFile, discusses his New York Review of Books essay, “China Strikes Back.” In September, Schell joined Jimmy Carter on a visit to China, where the former U.S. president got the cold shoulder from the Beijing leadership, a move Schell argues signals a dramatic shift in U.S.-China relations.
